CHILD Project

CHILD logo

Funded by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council, the Consortium for Health, Intervention, Learning and Development (CHILD) Project comprised teams of academic researchers and community professionals from across BC. Led by Hillel Goelman, Professor with HELP, Education and Pediatrics at the University of British Columbia, CHILD conducted research that examined the impact of community resources and characteristics on early child development (ECD).

Findings from ten studies contributed to knowledge in four research clusters: 1) early screening and intervention, 2) ECD in Aboriginal communities, 3) policy contexts of ECD and 4) program interventions for children and families.

The data collection phase of the CHILD Project concluded on December 31, 2007. For further information about CHILD or The Child Care & Child Mental Health Project please contact Dr. Hillel Goelman at hillel.goelman@ubc.ca or by phone at 604-822-5232.
